Girls' Gymnastics Meet in Akron

Hannah and Taylor had their most recent meet on 12.16.06 in Akron, OH. They did a wonderful job. More to come. Stay tuned.

Been a while

Sorry. It's been a while since I posted anything. Still catching up from Thanksgiving. Dog got sick, Hannah got sick, and now I'm sick. Tomorrow's a shopping day for christmas. Girls are in school and Barb's off work. I'll try to get back in here soon. Stay tuned.

Hannah's Halloween story

Hannah had to write a story in school as a reading assignment. This is what she came up with:

Halloween Freak Out
One time near Halloween on Saturday when everyone was asleep, I was still awake. I was making this really scary ghoste. At lunchtime I planed to get my ghoste, put it over my body, sneak up on my sister, Taylor, and at the right time when I was really close I said...Boo! My sister freaked out. She was so scared she almost fell out of her chair and she droped her spoon. After that my sister, Taylor, got so mad at me. I didn't hear her scream because I pluged my ears and said bla bla bla bla bla bla bla and so on. So she kept on talking, and finally said, are you listening to me? I said, oh, huh, what and my sister made a grunting noise and slaped her fourhead. She said, when I'm talking you listen. I said, listen, talking? What did you say? She said, you don't get it. So I said, well see ya later. She said, you come back here now! I said, no, never, never,never!

Now this sounds like a pretty cute story. She makes creative use of vocabulary. I didn't edit this in any way. It's all Hannah's spelling and grammar, and her ideas too. But, what's so hilarious is the fact that this sounds so much like a conversation that they have just about every day of their lives. As I read this, I can see the expressions on Hannah's and Taylor's faces and all the gestures they make so often.

It was just a homework assignment, but I had to share it. It's so telling! :)

Well, Girls have their first meet of Level 5

Everyone's excited. They've worked really hard to get this far. I'll have some pics to post here next week. Stay tuned.

My two gymnasts

We got news today that Hannah's been promoted. They were both in Level 4 and Taylor had been invited to go to Level 5 over the summer. Hannah's been disappointed that she didn't get to move up with Taylor. Well, we found out tonight that Hannah's been invited to join Taylor on Level 5. Hannah's worked really hard to catch up to her sister and it's paid off. She starts on level 5 tomorrow. Congratulations to Hannah. :)

Bo and his first Rat

Bo gets his first rat. This rat actually got loose on us in the apartment. We eventually got him by dropping the big screen on him.

Osama Bin Laden, your time is short;
We'd rather you die, than come to court.
Why are you hiding if it was in God's name?

You're just a punk with a turban; a pathetic shame.

I have a question, about your theory and laws;
"How come you never die for the cause?"

Is it because you're a coward who counts on others?
Well, here in America, we stand by our brothers.

As is usual, you failed in your mission;
If you expected pure chaos, you can keep on wishing
Americans are now focused and stronger than ever;
Your death has become our next endeavor.

What you tried to kill, doesn't live in our walls;
It's not in buildings or shopping malls.

If all of our structures came crashing down;
It would still be there, safe and sound.

Because pride and courage can't be destroyed;
Even if the towers leave a deep void.
